EXPLANATORY NOTE

Rule 58 was amended, effective 3/1/2006. Rule 58 is similar to N.D.R.Civ.P. 84. The forms are found in the appendix of forms. The practice of appending illustrative forms to serve as guides has been found useful in connection with many criminal codes. Rule 58 was amended, effective 3/1/2006, in response to the12/1/2002, revision of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. The language and organization of the rule were changed to make the rule more easily understood and to make style and terminology consistent throughout the rules.
