Oath or Affirmation (N.C.R. Evid. 603)

"Rule 603 merely provides that a witness before testifying must either by oath or affirmation declare that he will testify truthfully. State v. James, 322 N.C. 320, 323, 367 S.E.2d 669, 671 (1988).
