Double Hearsay (N.C.R. Evid. 805)

"Rule 805 precludes the admission of statements within admissible hearsay statements that do not qualify independently for admission into evidence. The Rule 805 exclusion requirement does not apply when the second layer of statements are not hearsay. State v. Hurst, 127 N.C.
