Rule 207 - Creation of Board1. The board of continuing legal education is hereby created.2. The board shall consist of seven members, each of whom must be an active member of the state bar. One member must be concurrently serving as a member of the state judiciary. 3. Three members of the board shall be appointed by the board of governors and four members of the board shall be appointed by the supreme court, to include the member of the state judiciary. The board shall select its own chair. 4. The terms of the members of the board are as follows:(a) The members of the board shall be appointed for three-year terms; however, to ensure that no more than three member's regular terms expire at once, the board of governors or the supreme court may, in its discretion, appoint or re-appoint a member to a term of less than three years. No member may serve on the board for more than a lifetime total of nine years. The time served in filling a partial term created by a vacancy or appointment shall not be included in computing the nine-year lifetime limit.(b) The term of each member expires on December 31 of the final year of the member's term.Added; effective 2/19/1982; amended effective 1/15/2010; amended effective 1/1/2017; amended effective 2/1/2019; amended effective 2/4/2022.
