Rule 89 - Officers of the State Bar: Election, Selection, Terms and Duties1. The officers of the state bar, who shall be members of the board of governors, shall be a president, a president-elect and a vice president. The board of governors shall also hire an executive director who also serves as treasurer.2. The officers of the state bar shall be elected from the membership of the board of governors by the governors. The officers shall be a president, a president-elect and a vice president. After serving one year, the president-elect succeeds the president and shall become president at the next meeting following his or her election as president-elect. In the event of a vacancy in the office of president-elect, the vice president shall assume the office of president-elect, but otherwise the term of vice president shall expire after a one-year term.3. The officers of the state bar shall continue in office until their successors are elected and qualify.4. The president shall preside at all meetings of the state bar and of the board of governors. In the event of the president's absence or inability to act, the president-elect shall preside. Other duties of the president, president-elect, and vice president and the duties of the executive director and the treasurer shall be such as the board of governors may prescribe.
