The chief judge shall appoint one or more district court judge(s) to serve as the probate judge(s) for the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada. The chief judge shall also have the discretion to allocate probate matters among the several probate judge(s). In the event that a probate judge is preempted, disqualified from hearing a matter, or is otherwise unable to accommodate a matter for any good cause, the chief judge shall assign the matter to another probate judge, or, if none, to any district judge.
