Rule 4-601.1 - Application for Law Enforcement Court Order
(a) Application for Order. Subject to section (d) of this Rule, an application for a court order authorized by law to be presented ex parte by a law enforcement officer to a judge may be presented in person or by transmission of the application to the judge by secure and reliable electronic mail that permits the judge to print the complete text of the documents. If the documents are transmitted electronically, the application and proposed order shall be sent in an electronic text format approved by the State Court Administrator, and the judge shall retain a copy of the application.
(b) Signature on Application. The signature required on the application may be hand-signed or signed electronically.
(c) Order. A court order issued pursuant to this Rule may be hand-signed or signed electronically by the issuing judge and may be transmitted to the applicant by secure and reliable electronic mail that permits the applicant to print the complete text of the order and the signature of the judge.
(d) Wiretap Applications

This Rule does not apply to an application for an order authorizing the interception of a wire, oral, or electronic communication under Code, Courts Article, § 10-408.
