Rule 15-301 - Habeas Corpus-Applicability

The rules in this Chapter apply to all habeas corpus proceedings challenging the legality of the confinement or restraint of an individual.

CONSTITUTIONAL PROVISIONS

Article III, § 55, of the Maryland Constitution, provides:

"The General Assembly shall pass no Law suspending the privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus.
