Application for permission to file additional evidence may be filed by either party within ten days after the filing of the recommendations, transcript, findings, and conclusions with the clerk of the supreme court. The application shall be verified and shall specify the grounds on which the application is based, with certification of service of a copy of the application on the opposing party.
In those cases wherein this court permits the introduction of additional evidence, the court may, in its discretion, remand the case to the commission and direct that the commission receive the additional evidence. After the receipt of such additional evidence, the commission shall re-examine the entire matter in the light of the additional evidence and redetermine the necessity for a recommendation to this court.
