The purposes of the judicial council shall be:
(a) To make continuous study of the organization of the courts, of the rules, procedures, and practices of the judicial system of the state, as well as of the work accomplished and the results attained by it, and of the uniformity of the exercise of discretionary power of the courts, to the end that procedure may be simplified, business expedited, and justice better administered;(b) To receive and consider suggestions from judges, public officers, members of the bar, and citizens relating to remedies for faults in the administration of justice;(c) To formulate methods for simplifying judicial procedure, expediting the transaction of judicial business, and correcting faults in the administration of justice;(d) To gather judicial statistics from the several judges and other court officials of the state;(e) To make a complete detailed report on or before March first of each year, to the supreme court and to the board of governors of the Louisiana State Bar Association, of all of its proceedings, suggestions, and recommendations, and such supplemental reports from time to time as the council may deem advisable. As soon as filed, all such reports shall be considered public reports and may be given to the press of this state; and(f) To make investigations and reports upon such matters touching the administration of justice as may be referred to the council by the supreme court.
