Rule 8.27 - Scheduling

Immediately upon filing the petition, the clerk shall set or secure the date for the hearing and so advise the minor if she is present. Otherwise, notice of hearing shall follow the procedures of rule 8.28. The hearing shall be held within 48 hours of the filing of the petition unless the minor or her attorney requests an extension of time within which a hearing shall be held. If the request for extension of time is granted, the deadline for filing any decision on appeal shall be extended for a like period of time.
