A lawyer should be punctual in communications with others and in honoring scheduled appearances.
Specifically, a lawyer who manifests professional courtesy and civility:
(a) Arrives sufficiently in advance of trials, hearings, meetings, depositions, or other scheduled events so that preliminary matters can be resolved.(b) Timely notifies all other participants and the court when, for a reason beyond the lawyer's control, the lawyer will be unavoidably late.(c) Timely notifies all other participants and the court when the lawyer is aware that a participant will be late for a scheduled event.Amended effective 10/4/2004; amended September 7, 2017, effective 1/1/2018; amended August 22, 2023, effective 1/1/2024.
