(A) All members of the public traveling through courthouse security are permitted to wear head coverings for medical or religious reasons. Individuals wearing such head coverings may be subject to the possibility of additional security screening, which may include a pat-down search of the head covering, or the individual will be offered the opportunity and may be required to remove the head covering in a private screening area by an officer of the same gender.(B) Judges have authority to control decorum in the courtroom, including directing the manner and mode of dress of anyone who appears therein. Persons who appear in court are expected to dress appropriately. Head coverings and hats are generally not permitted in courtrooms, except in cases where the covering is worn for medical or religious reasons.Adopted effective December 8, 2011.
