A fiduciary may petition the court to approve a proposed action, ratify a previously taken action or provide instruction to address a specific situation.

A party may petition the court to compel or prohibit an action by a fiduciary. The court may grant a petition to compel an action only if the failure to take the action would be a breach of fiduciary duty or abuse of discretion. The court may grant a petition to prohibit an action only if the action would be a breach of fiduciary duty or abuse of discretion.

Nothing in this rule shall be construed to abrogate any other provision of law that governs the fiduciary's action.
