Rule 2.4 - Preference of Cases for Trial

The following classifications of cases shall have preference for trial, in the order in which they are hereinafter set forth:

(1) Any cases granted preference by Statute or Court Rule.
(2) Juvenile cases.
(3) Criminal cases.
(4) Cases involving extraordinary circumstances for which the Court, upon written motion may agree to expedite the trial.
(5) Domestic Relations cases.
(6) Probate cases.
(7) All other cases.

All civil cases entitled to a preference for prompt trial by reason of statute, rule or order of the Court shall carry in its caption, below the heading indicating the type of case, the following or similar notation: "Priority Case" (citing rule number, order or statute).
