Rule 13 - Discovery Papers

Unless ordered by the court, Depositions, Interrogatories and answers thereto, Request for Production, Inspection or Admission and responses thereto, shall not be filed with the court, except that a "Notice of Service" of the foregoing papers on opposing counsel shall be filed with the court. Filing the Notice of Taking Deposition required by Rule 30(b)(1) of the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure will satisfy the requirement of filing "Notice of Service" with respect to depositions. This rule shall not preclude the use of discovery papers at a hearing or trial or as exhibits to motions.

HISTORICAL NOTES

Another Rule 14, "Arbitration," added April 19, 1988, effective April 1, 1988, was redesignated as Rule 17 by order dated December 29, 1988, approved by the Supreme Court January 4, 1989, and was subsequently renumbered as Rule 16 Nov. 1, 2007, effective Oct. 22, 2007.

Former Rule 13 was renumbered as Rule 12 on Nov. 1, 2007, effective Oct. 22, 2007.
