Rule 2 - Grounds for disciplineDiscipline may be imposed for any of the following reasons:
(a) Conviction of a crime as set forth in Rule 22 of these rules;(b) Violation of a rule of professional conduct contained in the Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct as from time to time shall be in effect in the state of Alabama, whether or not the violation occurred in the course of the lawyer-client relationship;(c) Discipline imposed in another jurisdiction; (d) Violation of these Rules of Disciplinary Procedure or violation of or failure to comply with an order of the Disciplinary Commission or the Disciplinary Board; or(e) Failure to respond to a request for a response or for information in a matter involving lawyer conduct from the Disciplinary Commission, the Disciplinary Board, the general counsel of the Alabama State Bar, or a local grievance committee of a circuit, county, or city bar association as approved by the Alabama State Bar pursuant to Rule 7 of these rules.
