Section 9-2 - Contact Person

The director or supervisor of each organization stated in 1 (b) above shall assign an individual(s) involved in the organization's dealing with criminal record history information, to attend or receive training as provided below. This individual(s) shall be the Division's contact person if problems arise.

(a) Each individual so assigned shall receive a minimum of eight (8) hours of training provided by the Division concerning fingerprinting and fingerprint processing, forms, questionnaires, state and federal laws relating to dissemination of information, or other areas of concern of the Identification Unit of the Division which relate to criminal history record information.

• (i) The Division will provide regional training upon request if the Division determines that the number of individuals and planned length of training make regional training feasible. Requests must identify the individuals for whom training is requested and their role in the organization's use of criminal history record information and or performing functions relative to an Identification Unit.

• (ii) The Division will also cooperate with the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy to provide training at the academy.

(b) While eight (8) hours of training is the minimum required, the Division will provide up to forty (40) hours of training (POST certified).

(c) The Division shall cooperate with each agency administrator to the fullest practicable extent to provide the above training.

(d) The Division shall establish a training curriculum concerning the above areas and may change the curriculum as necessary.
