The purpose of this subchapter is to establish procedures for implementing a lake classification grant program as provided for in s. 281.69(5), Stats. Grants awarded under this program will allow counties to assist the department to update and improve lake information, classify lakes by use, and implement activities that will protect water quality and lake ecosystems.
