Section 91-2-13 - Special Issue Plates Issued To Disabled Veterans

The type of license plate issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles to disabled veterans who are eligible for such plates under the provisions of Chapter 17-A, Article 10, Section 8 of the West Virginia Motor Vehicle Code are of the same format as all other plates except for the numbering. The letters DV will precede the actual numbers on the plate. The DV number series will commence with number 101 and will be continued consecutively for the required number of plates to register all motor vehicles owned by disabled veterans who are eligible to display this type of plate. The expiration date of the plate, as indicated on the registration card, must be renewed in the same manner as all other registrations.

Those veterans qualifying for license plates under the provisions of this section of the code who do not wish the special DV plate may request the regular license plate for their particular class of motor vehicle under the same provisions as provided for the special DV plate.
