Section 85-27-7 - Other Requirements
7.1. An injured worker petitioning for permanent total disability benefits referred for a rehabilitation evaluation must be evaluated by a qualified rehabilitation professional with either a masters or doctorate degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling and guidance, or psychology, or by a qualified rehabilitation professional with either the certified rehabilitation counselor, licensed professional counselor, vocational evaluation specialist, or certified disability management specialist certification or by a qualified rehabilitation professional who is certified by the American Board of Vocational Experts. Provided, an injured worker determined to have suffered a catastrophic injury must be assigned to a nurse qualified rehabilitation professional with at least one of the following certifications:
(1) certified rehabilitation registered nurse;
(2) certified case manager; or
(3) certified disability management specialist.
