Section 69-1-8 - Hearing Officers8.1. Every hearing officer appointed by the secretary to conduct a hearing under this rule who is not a member of the Board of Review shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in the state.8.2. The hearing officer is authorized to receive and rule upon any procedural matter arising before, during, or after a hearing. All final rulings on substantive matters shall be made by the secretary or as designated by the secretary to the Board of Review.8.3. The hearing officer may continue a hearing upon motion of the secretary or other party. Requests for continuances shall not be granted as a matter of course, but only upon a showing of good cause.
