Section 61-20-9 - Petition9.1. If an individual with a criminal record wishes to petition the Commissioner for a determination of whether the individual's criminal record will disqualify them from obtaining employment with the Department, the individual must provide: 9.1.a. Social security number;9.1.b. Jurisdiction where the conviction occurred;9.1.c. Date of the conviction;9.1.d. Specific nature of the conviction with sufficient detail to disclose all pertinent aspects of the offense;9.1.g. Military service; and9.1.h. A complete work history that will be included in a background check.9.1.i. The individual must also indicate the type(s) of positions that they are interested in.9.2. The information gathered from the background check will be evaluated against the specific nature, duties and location(s) of position(s) that they indicate an interest in for the Commissioner to render a decision.9.3. The petitioner will be informed of the decision within 60 days of receipt of the petition.
