Section 177-1-48 - Amateur Boxing Rules
48.1. General. -- The rules to be followed in all amateur boxing contests held in the State of West Virginia shall be the Rules of the Amateur Boxing Association and the Rules of the Commission. Any local boxing club, association or any group that desires to make requirements, local rules or any other restrictions other than those rules mentioned above, must first submit those rules to the Commission for approval.
48.2. Other rules, requirements or restrictions. -- No organization, association, group or club shall impose any additional rules, local rules, requirements or restrictions without first having those proposed rules, requirements or restrictions approved by the Commission: Provided, That no rule within this Series removing the requirement of head gear for amateur or semi-professional contestants shall be read to affect any event sanctioned by U.S.A. Boxing or to any event sanctioned by any other amateur boxing governing body approved by the United States Olympic Committee.
48.3. Procedure for approval.
48.3.a. Prior to any local rule, requirements or restrictions being imposed or put into effect, the proponent must submit an original and three (3) copies of the proposed rule to the Commission.
48.3.b. No rule, local rule, requirement or restriction shall be valid or enforceable unless first approved by the Commission.
48.3.c. In addition to the original and three (3) copies of the proposals, a proponent must also furnish a written rationale justifying the use of the proposed rules.
48.3.d. The Commission will notify the proponent of its decision to approve or reject any proposals within forty-five (45) days of the first meeting of the Commission after the receipt of the proposal.
