Section 126-150-3 - Eligibility

To ensure compliance with this amended law, county boards of education shall provide programs for the study of multicultural education by school personnel as follows:

a. For professional personnel, state code '18-5-15a shall be met through approved county continuing education programs which provide for the design and delivery of training to meet local needs. Because multicultural education has become a mandated need, it must appear in each yearly county continuing education plan which is approved at the county level and by the State Department of Education.

b. For service and auxiliary personnel, W. Va. Code '18-5-15a shall be met through the development of multicultural programs which accommodate the unique needs and job functions. It is recommended that the standards for training programs contained in the Guidelines for the Preparation of the Three-year County Continuing Education Plan be used to ensure this process. The county superintendent of schools shall approve these programs.
