Section 126-116-2 - Background

2.1. The West Virginia Board of Education in approving a one-half (1/2) unit economics graduation requirement made economics a part of comprehensive social studies, not an area of study that stands alone. In order to maintain the integrity of the interdisciplinary nature of comprehensive social studies, this plan recognizes an immediate staffing need and provides for long range training of social studies teachers to teach economics.
