The prevocational exploration teacher provides instruction in a variety of career clusters that enables youth to make more Informed, realistic occupational choices. The primary method of the process is the use of "hands on" experiences to illustrate abstract symbols and concepts related to self, education, and careers.
There are four clusters within the prevocational exploration program. Outlined below are the clusters available and the licensure required for the endorsement in each of the clusters within the prevocational exploration program.
2.1 Prevocational/Business - requires a Professional Certificate endorsed in business education, distributive education, secretarial studies, or business principles and the completion of the prevocational exploration program.2.2 Prevocational/Environmental - requires a Professional Certificate endorsed in vocational agriculture, industrial arts, biology, genera! science, or physical science and the completion of the prevocational exploration program.2.3 Prevocational/ Industrial - requires a Professional Certificate endorsed in industrial arts or vocational agriculture or a Vocational Certificate endorsed for an industrial or technical laboratory and the completion of the prevocational exploration program. Personnel may be recruited from business and industry to provide instruction in the industrial cluster, providing all efforts to locate Industrial arts, vocational agriculture, or vocational certificated teachers have been exhausted. This applicant shall meet the requirements as set forth in the Minimum Requirements for the Licensure of Educational Personnel, 1975 Revised 1982 edition, for the Vocational Permit In the industrial area. The county superintendent may then request, in writing to the Office of Educational Personnel Development, an authorization to employ such an individual until an individual with the appropriate licensure can be found. Such authorizations are valid for the 1984-85 school year only.2.4 Prevocational/Service - requires a Professional Certificate endorsed for home economics or a Vocational Certificate endorsed for health occupations and the completion of the prevocational exploration program.W.
