The West Virginia Board of Education requires that all buses operated by the county boards of education, or by contractors with a county board of education, be inspected for reasons of safety at least twice yearly, on a schedule as arranged by the Coordinator of School Transportation, and using inspection standards approved by the State Superintendent of Schools and the State Board of Education. The Board requires also that any school bus or vehicle used for the transportation of public school students, which fails to pass an inspection, shall not be used for the transportation of students until such time as it is reinspected and found to pass. Pass is defined to mean that the vehicle is found to meet all criteria specified on D.P.S. - Form 25.
