Section 392-190-040 - Recreational and athletic activities-Sex discrimination-Student interest-Required survey instrument
(1) The superintendent of public instruction must develop a survey instrument to assist each school district and public charter school in determining male and female student interest in participation in specific sports. With the office of superintendent of public instruction's approval, school districts and public charter schools may modify or amend the content of the survey instrument if necessary to clarify and assist in evaluating student interest.
(2) Each school district and public charter school must administer the survey developed under this section at least once every three years at each school and grade level where interscholastic, intramural, and other athletics are conducted. The school district or public charter school must consider the results of the survey when planning and developing recreational and athletic activities offered within the school district or charter school and when determining whether equal opportunities are available to members of both sexes under WAC 392-190-025 and 392-190-030.
