How does one comment on proposals?
If a proposal is accepted for final consideration at a meeting, the committee will solicit opinions from local and tribal governments and other organizations or individuals who may have an interest in the proposed name. Because of the difficulty in contacting everyone who may be familiar with a particular geographic feature, the committee relies upon comments submitted by the public.
There are two preferred ways to comment on a geographic name proposal, and comments can be submitted at any time in the proposal process, up to ten days prior to a meeting:
