IMPORTANT:
The contractor is responsible for following all confined space requirements in this part and in other rules that apply.
The employer must do all of the following if the employer arranges to have another employer (contractor) perform work that involves entry into its permit-required confined space:
(1) Inform the contractor: (a) That the workplace contains permit-required confined spaces and entry is allowed only if the applicable requirements of this part are met.(b) Of the identified hazards and experience with each permit-required confined space.(c) Of any employer required precautions or procedures for the protection of employees in or near spaces where the contractor will be working.(2) Coordinate entry operations with the contractor, when either employees or employers from the different companies will be working in or near permit-required confined spaces.(3) Discuss entry operations with the contractor when they are complete. Include the following in the discussion: (a) The program followed during confined space entry; and(b) Any hazards confronted or created.Wash. Admin. Code § 296-307-64406
