Section 296-307-48035 - Piping joints(1) Joints in steel or wrought iron piping must be welded, threaded or flanged. Fittings, such as ells, tees, couplings, and unions, must be rolled, forged or cast steel, malleable iron or nodular iron. Gray or white cast iron fittings are prohibited.(2) Joints in brass or copper pipe must be welded, brazed, threaded, or flanged. Socket type joints must be brazed with silver-brazing alloy or similar high melting point (not less than 800°F) filler metal.(3) Joints in seamless copper, brass, or stainless steel tubing must be approved gas tubing fittings or the joints must be brazed.
