Section 296-307-48005 - Storing compressed gas cylinders(1) Cylinders must be kept away from radiators and other sources of heat.(2) Indoors, cylinders must be stored in a well-protected, well-ventilated, dry area, at least twenty feet from highly combustible materials such as oil or excelsior. Cylinders should be stored in assigned places away from elevators, stairs, or gangways. Assigned storage spaces must be located where cylinders will not be knocked over or damaged by passing or falling objects, or subject to tampering. All cylinder enclosures must be ventilated.(3) Empty cylinders must have their valves closed.(4) Valve protection caps on cylinders designed to accept a cap, must always be in place and hand-tight, except when cylinders are in use or connected for use.Wash.
