Section 246-231-001 - Purpose and scope(1) This chapter establishes requirements for packaging, preparation for shipment, and transportation of radioactive material.(2) Licensees shall also comply with applicable requirements of NRC, DOT, the United States Postal Service1 , and other requirements of Title 246 WAC.(3) The regulations in this chapter apply to any licensee authorized by specific or general license issued by the department, NRC or an agreement state, to receive, possess, use, or transfer licensed material, if the licensee delivers that material to a carrier for transport, transports the material outside the site of usage as specified in the license, or transports that material on public highways.
