Section 246-221-270 - Vacating premises and release of equipment(1) Each specific licensee shall notify the department in writing of intent to vacate, at least 30 days before vacating or relinquishing possession or control of premises which may have been contaminated with radioactive material as a result of licensed activities.(2) Each licensee shall permanently decontaminate the premise, before vacating any premise or transferring the premise, in accordance with the standards specified in chapter 246-246 WAC. A survey by the licensee shall be made after the decontamination and the department and the landlord or subsequent tenant or transferee shall be provided with a copy of the survey no later than the date of vacating or relinquishing possession or control of the premise.(3) No machinery, instruments, laboratory equipment or any other property used in contact with, or close proximity to radioactive material at a licensed premise shall be assigned, sold, leased, or transferred to an unlicensed person unless the property has been decontaminated and meets the standards specified in WAC 246-232-140.
