Section 246-821-800 - [Effective 1/1/2025] Standards for educational programs(1) A behavioral health support specialist educational program must be approved by the department and, if applicable, registered with the department of labor and industries before its graduates are eligible for BHSS certification.(2) The minimum amount of behavioral health instruction required for a BHSS curriculum is at least: (a) Forty-five quarter college credits;(b) Thirty semester college credits; or(c) Four hundred fifty hours of apprenticeship related/supplemental instruction.(3) Education must include instruction in all competencies and clinical skills listed in WAC 246-821-110, consistent with University of Washington behavioral health support specialist clinical training program guidelines.(4) An educational program may grant a student credit for previously completed, relevant course instruction, up to 15 quarter or 10 semester credits.Wash.
