Section 182-551-2115 - Medical social services(1) The medicaid agency covers medical social services under program rules, including the rules in this chapter.(2) Medical social services include the following:(a) Assessment of the social and emotional factors related to the client's illness;(b) Need for care, response to treatment, and adjustment to care;(c) Evaluation of the client's home situation, financial resources, and availability of community resources;(d) Assistance in obtaining available community resources and financial resources; and(e) Counseling the client and family to address emotional issues related to the illness.(3) The medicaid agency pays for up to eight 15-minute units per 365-day period without prior authorization.(4) The medicaid agency may authorize additional services on a case-by-case basis under WAC 182-501-0169.Wash.
