Section 173-160-400 - What are the minimum standards for resource protection wells and geotechnical soil borings?

The following minimum standards shall apply to all resource protectionwells and geotechnical soil borings constructed in the state of Washington. It is the responsibility of the resource protection well operator, resource protection well contractor, and the property owner to take whatever measures are necessary to guard against waste and contamination of the groundwater resource.

(1) It will be necessary in some cases to construct resource protectionwells and geotechnical soil borings with additional requirements beyond the minimum standards.
(2) Nothing in this section limits the department's authority to approve comparable alternative specifications for construction as technology in the industry is developed, or new methods of construction become known to the department.
