Section 23VAC10-115-152 - Application to short taxable yearA. In the case of a short taxable year of an estate or trust for which a declaration is required to be filed the estimated tax shall be paid in equal installments, one at the time of filing the declaration, one on the 15th day of the sixth month of the taxable year and another on the 15th day of the ninth month of such year unless the short taxable year closed during or prior to such sixth or ninth month, and one on the 15th day of the first month of the succeeding taxable year.B. The provisions of subdivision 5 of 23VAC10-115-150 relating to payment of estimated tax in any case in which the declaration is filed after the due date, shall also apply to the payment of the estimated tax for short taxable years.C. For example, if the short taxable year is the period of 10 months from March 1, 1988, to December 31, 1988, and the declaration is required to be filed on or before June 15, 1988 (the fifteenth day of the fourth month), the estimated tax is payable in four equal installments on June 15 with the declaration, August 15, 1988, November 15, 1988, and January 15, 1989.23 Va.
