Section R525-6-1 - Authority and Purpose(1) This rule is adopted under:(a) Subsection 26B-1-202(1), which gives the Department of Health and Human Services rulemaking authority;(b) Subsection 76-8-311.1(2)(a), which permits a mental health facility to establish secure areas within the facility and prohibit or control by rule any firearm or other dangerous weapon, ammunition, or explosive; and(c) Subsection 76-8-311.3(2), which permits a mental health facility to prohibit a firearm, ammunition, a dangerous weapon, an implement of escape, an explosive, a controlled substance, spirituous or fermented liquor, medicine, or poison on campus.(2) This rule establishes secure areas on the Utah State Hospital (USH) campus, and procedures for securing prohibited items and devices.Utah Admin.
