Section 217.49 - Water Well Drilling Equipment and Vehicles(a) Prior to the approval of a machinery license plate for any piece of mechanically qualified water well drilling equipment, the owner must first present proof of a current license from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. (b) Every truck or trailer, whether conventional or unconventional, which has mounted thereon machinery used exclusively for drilling water wells may qualify for a $5 machinery license plate.43 Tex.
