Section 9.92 - Definitions The terms in this section have the following meanings when used in this subchapter unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
(1) Mental illness--A mental condition or disorder as defined by the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as a clinically significant behavioral, or psychological syndrome or pattern that occurs in an individual and that is associated with present distress or disability or with a significantly increased risk of suffering death, pain, disability or an important loss of freedom. This condition must present a significant level of impairment that poses a credible threat to the individual's health and safety or the health and safety of another individual. (2) Military member--Has the meaning assigned by Texas Government Code, § 411.461(3).37 Tex. Admin. Code § 9.92
