Section 35.91 - Requirements for Personal Protection License(a) An applicant for a personal protection license shall:(1) Submit a written application for a personal protection license on a form prescribed by the department;(2) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;(3) Either possess a valid security officer commission issued prior to applying for a personal protection license, or submit an application for security officer commission in conjunction with the application for a personal protection license;(4) Submit proof that the applicant has successfully completed the personal protection officer course taught by an approved personal protection officer instructor; and(5) Submit proof of completion of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory on the department-prescribed form. The form must be signed by the administering psychologist or psychiatrist and must reflect the psychologist's or psychiatrist's interpretation of the results and the determination that the applicant is not disqualified from the license by reason of a mental health condition.(b) A personal protection officer may transfer their license to another employer if the personal protection officer: (1) Has transferred their security officer commission to the new employer; and(2) Submits the appropriate form and transfer fee to the department within fourteen (14) days of the transfer of employment to the new employer.37 Tex.
