Section 251.1 - Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

(1) Commission--The Texas Workers' Compensation Commission.
(2) Director--The director of the State Office of Risk Management.
(3) Division--The Workers' Compensation Division of the Office of the Attorney General.
(4) Employee--Any person who is an "employee" as defined by the Texas Labor Code, Chapter 501, §501.001(5) and §501.024, or is otherwise considered under Texas law to be a state employee for purposes of that chapter.
(5) Employing agency--The agency, department, office, board, commission, body, or entity of the state by which the injured person is employed.
(6) Insured--The State of Texas.
(7) Insurer--The director, State Office of Risk Management.
