Section 196.1 - Relinquishment of License(a) Relinquishment by licensee.(1) A licensee may at any time voluntarily relinquish or request cancellation of his or her license to practice medicine in Texas for any reason, without compulsion.(2) Requests to relinquish or cancel a license must be submitted to the Board in writing.(b) Acceptance by the board. The board shall accept all voluntary relinquishment requests except when a licensee is under investigation or subject to disciplinary action by the board.22 Tex. Admin. Code § 196.1
