Section 108.56 - Certifications, Degrees, Fellowships, Memberships and Other Credentials(a) Dentists may advertise credentials earned in dentistry so long as they avoid any communications that express or imply specialization in a recognized specialty, or specialization in an area of dentistry that is not recognized as a specialty, or attainment of an earned academic degree.(b) A listing of credentials shall be separate and clearly distinguishable from the dentist's designation as a dentist. A listing of credentials may not occupy the same line as the dentist's name and designation as a dentist. Any use of abbreviations to designate credentials shall be accompanied by a definition of the acronym immediately following the credential. Attached Graphic
(c) The provisions of subsection (b) of this section shall not be required in materials not intended for business promotion or public dissemination, such as peer-to-peer communications.22 Tex. Admin. Code § 108.56
