Section 781.317 - Research and Publications(a) In research with a human subject, a social worker is responsible for the subject's welfare throughout a project, shall obtain informed consent and take reasonable precautions so that the subject shall suffer no injurious emotional, physical or social effect. (b) A social worker shall disguise data obtained from a professional relationship for the purposes of education or research to ensure full protection of the identity of the subject client. (c) When conducting and reporting research, a social worker must recognize previous work on the topic, as well as observe all copyright laws. (d) A social worker must give due credit through joint authorship, acknowledgment, footnote statements, Internet sources, or other appropriate means to those who have contributed significantly to the social worker's research or publication.22 Tex.
