Section 0090-03-.01 - APPROVED COURSES(1) For purposes of licensing qualifying agents, the Commissioner shall determine on an individual basis what courses are to be accepted as "national training programs." A nationally recognized training program is not required to be offered throughout the nation to meet this criteria. A nationally recognized training program may consist of proprietary information of an alarm systems contractor as to how its alarm systems are designed, installed, or monitored and may have enrollment restricted to its employees. The Commissioner shall have the authority to determine on an individual course basis what training programs are to be accepted as meeting this criteria.(2) For purposes of this Chapter of the Commissioner's Rules, "course" shall mean a national training program as defined in paragraph (1) of this rule.(3) For purposes of meeting licensure requirements, a certification issued by a course shall be approved by the Commissioner.(4) All courses must be individually approved by the Commissioner on the basis of the course's ability to provide relevant curriculum, the availability of the course, the quality of the course, and the reasonable cost of the course among other factors.(5) Applicants or licensees are encouraged to obtain prior Commissioner approval of a course before attending.Tenn.
