Facilities containing putrescible wastes capable of attracting birds may not be located within 5,000 feet of an airport runway end used only by piston-type aircraft, and within 10,000 feet of an airport runway end used by turbojet aircraft. The operator shall inform the federal aviation administration (FAA) in writing if the facility is within five miles of a public airport.
