Section 67:61:08:09 - Assistance with self-administration of medication

Assistance with self-administration of medication is the act of assisting a client with one or more steps in the process of taking medication, but not the actual administration of medication. Assistance with self-administration of medication includes:

(1) Opening the medication container;

(2) Reminding the client of the proper time to take the medication;

(3) Helping to remove the medication from the container; and

(4) Returning the medication container to storage.
